Capturing
The Soul
There's a little piece of heaven in Detroit called The Capuchin Soup
Kitchen. "Visions of the Sacred" is a unique web site that uses
documentary photojournalism and the theme "the sacred" to raise
money to feed the homeless.
This site isn't just about serving up over 50,000 meals in a month. It's
about giving people hope. Visitors who wish to support the Capuchin Soup
Kitchen may bid for photos at the online auction or may simply send a
donation.

syndrome and various other repetitive injuries, it might be time to teach
that old mouse some new tricks.

Disco, Disco Cow
Milkoland, one of Sweden's largest milk producing dairies, is home to
Milko, the touring cow. Help Milko get his groove back on the Music
Machine by creating your very own music video.
Visitors may choose either metal, hip-hop or disco and then drag and drop
video clips, vocals and effects on a timeline to create the ultimate video
dance party.
Then just site back and watch Milko bust a move using everything from the
classic Travolta steps to the cool moves of Coolio. Users may send the
finished product to friends.

Forgotten
Americans
Monte Alto and Elsa, in the Lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas, and Montana
Vista and Sparks, located on the far eastern desert fringes of El Paso,
Texas, are settings for Hector Galán's film, Forgotten Americans.
In this companion site to the film, visitors embark on a virtual journey
to the colonias where muddy dirt roads lead to rows of "ruddy,
crudely constructed shacks that are little more than a patchwork of old
boards and cardboard." In the land of milk and honey, the people
here, ironically, live without electricity and often, no running water. A
visually stunning site devoted to a people long forgotten.

Rock
and Roll Hall of Shame
Oscar Wilde was once quoted as saying, "Some people bring pleasure
wherever they go, others, whenever they go." The content of this next
site definitely falls into the second category.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Shame is a hilarious and at times a painful
recount of some questionable covers by Hollywood actors of some of the
greatest rock and pop songs of all time. Browse through the site and
you'll come across such classics as Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds,
interpreted by William Shatner, or Got to Get You Into My Life as
performed by Joe Pesci. Don't quit your day jobs, fellas.

American
Mile Markers
Just when you thought you had seen it all in travel sites,
photographer/engineer Matt Frondorf introduces us to his 35mm mile marker
approach to traveling cross country.
Taken on the Road is Matt's journey from the Statue of Liberty to the
Golden Gate Bridge. But unlike your typical road trip, in true engineer
fashion, Matt painstakingly plotted out as straight a line as possible for
his route while taking photos precisely at each one mile increment. The
result is an unusual chronicle of what would otherwise be an average cross
country trip.

Nifty
Kid's Site
Step into the magical world of castles and unicorns. Through the use of
computer-generated art, Carol McLean-Carr sets the mood for fairy dreams
with beautiful digitally illustrated sketches.
This is a great site for kids of all ages. Click on the crystal ball and
have fun with the Book Dragon and his books, Tiny Timothy Turtle, Fairy
Dreams or even start your own online drawing kit.
