British Pop Culture in the 1960s
Austin Powers reminded us of the free-spirited energy that embodied England in the 1960's, a pop-culture explosion that stretched from London all the way to America. Fueled by the magical music of The Beatles, this movement took Britain from the gray days of post-war immobility into an international realm of political and musical revolution.
SixtiesPop.com is the self-styled 'definitive website for images and information about the 'swinging decade'. The site discusses the cultural roots of the period, and contains interviews with actors and musicians whose work was well represented during that time. Don't miss the section entitled 'Star Interviews', which includes one-on-one's with members of The Kinks and other legendary English bands.

Labor Art Splash
Most buildings, museums, bridges, churches and other urban landmarks were built entirely on the sweat and blood of the working class. These are the men and women who gave their lives to the construction and creation of great cities such as New York, the people who've done all the work and received little of the credit.
The Labor Arts website is a work in progress, a 'virtual museum' dedicated to honoring the cultural history and accomplishments of working people. There are fascinating exhibits such as 'Unseen America', a photography exhibit in which workers use their cameras to give us a closer look into their working lives.

Repeating Third Grade
Teachers who feel disconnected from their students once the school bell has rung should take a hint from Mrs. Dingman. She has her third grade class wired and ready with a website that includes classroom rules, tips for parents, and interactive learning projects.
Mrs. Dingman's website, while specifically for the students in her class, represents a brand new model for developing teacher-student relationships. Using the Web, she is enabling parents to stay involved in their children's education, as well as developing creative interactive projects for her students to tackle.

Netizen's Guide to Flame Warriors
Welcome to Mike Reed's Internet guide to 'Flame Warriors', belligerent characters who torment the stability of message boards, bulletins and chat rooms.
According to Mike, the Internet is a 'battlefield' and surfers should be aware of their online 'enemies'. The site contains a glossary of Internet slang and a growing list of 'Flame Warriors' to watch out for.

The Carthedral
'The Carthedral' is a 1971 modified Cadillac, a gothic road warrior complete with skeleton heads and gargoyles. Definitely not something you want to cut-off on a dark country road.
The website behind the car is ironically inspiring, with a photo gallery and a travel log documenting everywhere its owner, Rebecca Caldwell, has gone.

Mel Brooks Humor Site
From 'The Producers' to 'Blazing Saddles', Mel Brooks has drummed up some of the most delightful comedy of the twentieth century. Now there's a website for fans to celebrate his legendary brand of wonderful and socially incorrect humor.
The Mel Brooks Humor Site is an all-inclusive look into the man and his
comedy including a biography, famous audio clips from some of his most popular films, and a behind-the-scenes look into all twelve of his movies. Be sure to check out the sections entitled 'Filmology', which includes all of Brooks' work as a writer, actor, director, producer and composer.

Digital Photography Ezine
Digital cameras allow users to bypass expensive film and laborious darkrooms while still letting them take beautiful pictures. The best part about the process is that photographers can instantly upload, manipulate and send their photos to people all over the world.
